Quick Recap of Molly's Pancreatic Cancer Journey:
· June 10, 2017- Started having symptoms of liver failure
· June 16, 2017- Tumor was found in the pancreas after ER visit and CT scan
· June 23, 2017- Whipple surgical procedure performed in hopes to remove all pancreatic cancer
· June 26, 2017- Found out Whipple procedure did not remove ALL cancer, clear margins were not obtained
· August 2017-January 2018: Chemotherapy
· February 2018-March2018- Radiation
· April 2018-September 2018- No evidence of disease
· October 2018- pain in abdomen; later found to be a reccurrence of cancer in the tail and midsection of pancreas
· November 2018-Present- Chemotherapy and various natural supplements resulting in a 50% shrinkage by January 2019 and stable tumor size through June 2019
Current Status:
· June 27, 2019- PET scan
· June 29, 2019- PET Results read stable tumors in pancreas. There is, however, a new 1.9 x 2.3cm tumor in my liver.
NEXT STEP:
July 8, 2019- Oncologist appointment to discuss PET scan results, schedule an MRI for a better, more detailed view, and to schedule a biopsy to determine if the new tumor is metastatic pancreatic cancer or liver cancer.
We are actively researching a world-renowned clinic in Cuba that has developed a cancer vaccine that has shown success in lung, stomach, liver and pancreatic cancer patients and has recently begun a trial in the US for lung cancer patients only. If we pursue this option, we would need to travel to Cuba for treatment. My medical records have been sent electronically to the facility in Cuba for study, evaluation, and discussion.
We will also be researching UCSF, Duke University, MD Anderson, Sloan Kettering, and Johns Hopkins for further treatment opinions.
At this point of our journey, time is of the essence. We are feeling the ever-pressing push to research and find any and all other options for treatment as soon as possible. This will likely mean some kind of travel, whether across the US or overseas. As reluctant as we have been to ask for financial support, we are running out of possibilities. We know that treatment beyond this point will require just that, financial assistance. We know our family, friends and community are the strongest supporters we could ever have hoped for. Your love, support and friendship have meant the world to us and it has been the energy that keeps us going. We hope that you would please consider partnering with us through this next hurdle and donate towards Molly’s fight to find a cure and kill this cancer once and for all! We thank you and would love your well wishes, good vibes, positive energy, and prayers. Combined, they definitely make a difference!!!
