Molly Molloy's Dance Memorial
Donation protected
Following her passing last year, Molly's family are currently organising a Dance Class Memorial in London on Sunday 9 April 2017 to celebrate her life and contribution to dance. Molly was a ground-breaking Jazz Dance teacher and Choreographer for more than half a century (1965-2016) particularly in London and Paris but also all around the world. Molly inspired many dancers through her teaching to become industry leading performers, teachers and choreographers.
This will be an opportunity for us to remember her Jazz dance classes from different eras as well as "Exodus", her reknowned choreographical piece and one that was most loved by her dancers throughout her long and distinguished career.
Attendees will either participate in the class or watch.
Following a brief welcome and opening remarks from some of those closest to her, the class will take place. Drinks and light refreshments will be available following the conclusion of the dance class.
Donations will be used to cover the hiring of a suitable hall (with a dedicated event manager) and catering for up to 100 people. Donations are now welcome even if you are unable to attend but simply wish to contribute to the success of this memorial dance class. If we surpass our target, the surplus will be passed onto Cancer Research UK.
Molly's son Matt Atkinson is in charge of final expenses. He is supported by an organising committee that includes Molly's friends Arlene Phillips, Tim Spain and Kathie Burke, as well as Matt's wife Sam Modeste.
Photos of the event will later be posted on Molly's Facebook memorial page.
