Molly, Jake, & Baby Kenneth's NICU Journey!

**Whoah Baby! A New Year’s Morning Surprise! **

What a whirlwind start to 2025 for Molly and Jake! At the bright and early hour of 3:10 am on January 1st, they welcomed their little bundle of joy, Kenneth Wayne Schafer, a tiny superstar who decided to make his grand entrance 13 weeks ahead of schedule! Weighing in at just 2 lbs., 9 oz and measuring a mighty 13.94", this feisty little guy is already stealing hearts everywhere!

Despite his early arrival, Kenneth & Molly are both doing remarkably well! His oxygen intake has impressively dropped from 80% to 30%, and Mama and Daddy are soaking in all the love their new teammate brings. The NICU has even dubbed him the “largest preemie” they've ever seen, and they’re pretty sure he could palm a basketball already! We are extremely grateful for the care provided by John Hopkins Children's Hospital. NP Crystal and Nurses Laura & Danielle have been nothing short of amazing! They do expect Kenneth will remain in the NICU for the next 2-3 months as he gains his strength and prepares for his first big game!

We will plan a fabulous celebration when baby Kenneth can join the fun. In the meantime, we’d love to lift some of the stress off of the new parents' shoulders as they tackle the next few months.
