Molly (Howard) Gerwig Medical Expenses

Life update:

May 2021 has been a whirlwind of big life changes both good and bad. May 15th was the best day of my life. I FINALLY got to marry my best friend Brian Gerwig at my childhood home while celebrating with all of our friends and family. However, May 13th a few days before I got the scariest phone call I’ve ever had. A week prior to the wedding I had a biopsy of a mass in my sigmoid colon. The doctor was calling me back with the results … I knew with the disappointing tone this wasn’t going to go the way I wanted it to. “Malignant” was the only word I heard before tears rolled down my face.

Brian and I immediately cancelled our honeymoon and came back to Houston to get more answers.

I have stage IV Neuroendocrine Colon cancer. My case is very rare (if you want to know more feel free to reach out). I had to start emergency chemo on Memorial Day weekend and the plan is to go through 4 rounds of it then reassess in August.

I am not one to post on Facebook for sympathy or attention, I am simply getting the news out to those wondering why Brian and I have been “MIA” or short with text messages. We appreciate if you would keep us in your prayers. God has placed this trial in our lives to be a part of our testimony and to reach to others!
