Mollii suit for Marissa

Hi , im Dave and I am the proud father in law of Marissa.

18 months ago my son Cameron and his now wife Marissa started wedding planning. The planning was going very smooth but Marissa who’s a wheelchair user wanted to walk down the isle so she spoke to NHS physiotherapists and Drs of which was told there was no chance as there isn't enough funding for her as it would take months of dedicated sessions, My son Cameron wasn’t happy so he reached out to a company called VIM Health and their amazing staff asessed Marissa that same week and put a plan in place it was 2/3 hourly sessions a week for 3 month's we struggled with funding these so the amazing people at Vim aloud us to get charitable support for 20 hour long sessions and as we got closer to the wedding Vim had a trial with Ottobock for a Mollii Suit that sends programmed electro-stimulation to muscle’s that helps relieve the spasticity and provides a relief so that exercise and physiotherapy can provide beneficial results that can improve overtime rather than maintaining and slowing down the regression. During our 3 week trial Marissa found that the majority of her spasticity has reduced and in some muscles completely eliminated, the range of movement improved in all lower joints and muscles and intern meant she was able to strengthen her legs, hips and core muscles of which meant Marissa was able to walk down the isle with her dad at her wedding but now all the funds have dried up and the mollii suit has been returned her improvements will now regress back to pre-suit and rehab levels meaning she will get weaker, gain her spasticity back and intern have more spasms of which are already impacting marissa and it’s causing more pain and discomfort which is why we are setting up this gofundme, the suit costs £5000+ to buy and having some aftercare sales support.

For someone who would not of been able to have accomplished this very tear provoking isle walk without the funds and now is in a position of losing everything gained through the use of the Mollii suit I appeal to your kind generosity in asking for the funds to help maintain and improve Marissa’s pain relief and flexibility gained.

10m timed walk 0.27m/s in 37 steps which was 42% faster.

5 x sit to stand timed 35% quicker

Berg balance scale 23/56 improvement from initial testing lower scores indicate higher risk’s of falling.

These 3 tests have proven over the 46.25 hours Marissa has got stronger, faster and improved her balance. We want to keep pushing and improving these stats more, but need help funding the improvements.
