Servus!

Eure Steffie!

Hi there!
My name is Stefanie.
Since I was born, I have struggled with spasticity, mainly in my feet and legs, which has unfortunately worsened over the years and severely restricted my mobility.
Due to the spasticity, my left foot in particular pulled inwards more and more, and I started to walk only on my toes. It was no longer possible to roll my foot. This caused me a lot of pain, so in 2011 I decided to have an operation on the tendon of my left foot. The tendon was supposed to be repositioned so that I could walk with the entire surface of my foot. This expectation was not fulfilled. This really brought my mood down and it took me a long time to get back on my feet. The pain was gone, but I still couldn't walk with my whole foot.
I think this is due to the spasticity, which simply cannot be operated on. Since then, I have had Botox treatments and regular physiotherapy and occupational therapy. I started therapeutic riding a year and a half ago at my own expense.
When the Botox wears off, the spasticity in my feet increases again, making my body very tense and cramped. As a result, I find it even more difficult to walk due to the cramping. This slows down everyday activities such as cooking, shopping, doing the laundry, housework, etc.
During one of my rehab stays in 2023, I met a young man who told me about the Mollii Exopulse Suit from Otto Bock. A full-body suit that uses electrical impulses to stimulate and relax the muscles.
Back at home, my husband and I looked for a medical supply store where we could try out the Mollii Exopulse Suit.
We found what we were looking for and finally made our way there.
Once we arrived at the medical supply store, we were given a short briefing and then put on the Mollii Suit, as well as a walking and balance test and certain fine motor exercises with our fingers. This was all filmed by an employee of the medical supply store.
A device was then attached to the Mollii Suit so that the muscles in my body were stimulated for around 50 minutes using electrical impulses that were passed through the suit. After the 50 minutes, the same tests were carried out as before the stimulation. The result was amazing! I was able to walk faster and more smoothly.
About an hour after leaving the medical supply store, the result was even more amazing, as the spasticity in my whole body visibly and noticeably subsided and this condition lasted for a few days. I was able to move more smoothly and could do everyday things more easily. I no longer had any pain. I was also no longer as exhausted after a day's work as I was before testing the Mollii Exopulse Suit.
The Mollii Suit is not listed in the health insurance companies' catalog of remedies and is therefore not recognized. The health insurance companies are therefore reluctant to pay for the Mollii Exopulse Suit. The purchase costs amount to around 10,000 to 12,000 euros.
That exceeds our budget!
I, my husband, my physio and my doctors are convinced that this aid, which is not yet listed in the catalog of remedies, will help me to cope much better with my everyday life. Even a lasting improvement in my physical condition cannot be ruled out. In any case, the suit will bring more joy and ease into my life and reduce the hurdles in my daily life.
Please support me in the purchase of the Mollii Exopulse Suit with your donation and by forwarding or sharing this post.
I am grateful for every donation and support!
Your Steffie!
