In the 19 years I’ve been a salon owner, I have weathered many ups and downs. It’s through the strength and resilience of the community at Mollie Michelle, that I am motivated to not only weather this, but walk my community through it with the utmost support. We have always overcome challenges and grown stronger by navigating them together and this will be no exception.
As of May 12, we have been closed for 8 weeks. I miss my staff, and you-my clients every single day. I never imagined how hard it would be not spending time with you; our assistants, our stylists, my hair family.
Like so many small business owners, these past months has been an ongoing battle to manage the challenges facing our company. We have been working tirelessly around the clock to make our voices heard. Sadly, our industry is often missed in regards to government plans and grants. Navigating these sites and applications is new and we are exhausting all avenues of relief.
At Mollie Michelle our focus has been to create responsible plans of action and support in effort that each of our affected community members is set up to navigate and overcome this truly challenging time. We have done everything in our power to aid our staff. At Mollie Michelle, we have 38 independent stylists. Each one of these ladies are considered small business owners.
To supplement the rent costs that we are still required to pay in full, I have created this fund.
ALL money collected will be evenly split between the incredible independent contractors at Mollie Michelle going towards our rent obligations. Your support and generosity is needed more than ever. Every dollar alleviates a small amount of pressure from us.
We have always taken so much pride in giving our craft, lending our ears, and always our hearts out to our customers. As your passionate and devoted team of experts and your hair home away from home; we cannot wait to return to doing our favorite thing, taking care of each of you and creating beauty and confidence for all.
Please take care of your family and loved ones while social distancing and of course, stay well. We look forward to welcoming you all back for some much needed hair love and as we always do, some much needed community love.
