I need your help to get to the 2022 Blender Conference!
I'm Brady, and I love to use Blender to visualise the strange and beautiful molecular world of proteins and biochemistry.
For several years now, I have been making YouTube tutorials teaching other biochemists how to get started with Blender, and how to start making beautiful molecular landscapes. This year I created Molecular Nodes which speeds up the process and enables new approaches to creating and animating molecular scenes.
I've managed to get a spot to talk about Molecular Nodes and visualising proteins in Blender, at the 2022 Blender Conference, in Amsterdam! This is very exciting but slightly problematic, given that I live all the way over in Perth, Australia, and am currently at the end of finishing my PhD.
Coming out of a PhD means funds are very sparse, and flying to Europe and back isn't an option to give a conference talk without financial support, which is where you come in!
If you have at all found the work that I do either through my YouTube channel's tutorials, or through the time saved and creative potential unlocked in using Molecular Nodes, then I would very much appreciate any and all financial support to try and get Molecular Nodes on the big stage!
I am asking for $4,000 AUD (Australian Dollars). The breakdown of the budget is below:
- Return Flights: $2,000 AUD
- Amsterdam Accomodation: $1,200 AUD
- BlenderCon registration (discounted): $300 AUD
- Smaller travel Expenses: $500 AUD
Being able to present this work at the Blender Conference would enable the highlighting of the fantastic work that everybody in the scientific art community are achieving with the power of Blender.
