A few nights ago in my immediate neighborhood, there was a house fire which completely destroyed the entire house. Thankfully the family was able to escape in time and are all fine, but they lost everything. The family has 3 children under the age of 10. All their toys, clothes, upcoming Christmas presents, and much more were all unrecoverable. This family is now going to be spending the Christmas season trying to start over with everything, while trying to make this Christmas special for their kids in the midst of a tragedy.

Mokena, this is the perfect opportunity to rally as a community to support a family of ours during this time of the year.

While we are still in the process of gathering exact needs for the family, we are starting a GoFundMe campaign to help this family in the immediate interim with basics. Food, clothes, replacement Christmas Presents, etc. If you find it within your heart to help and contribute, I know that this family will be incredibly blessed and thankful. We all know how long insurance can take with claims, and we want to make sure we are able to help them out in the meanwhile.

This is a very overwhelming time for this family and we want to protect their privacy. We are not going to be listing the families name on the GoFundMe account. Myself and Dan have been in contact with their neighbor, who is a very good friend of the family. She is our point of contact so we can help this family as best we can. The GoFundMe account proceeds will be given directly to the neighbor from the Mokena Community Page. She is a part of this page and will be able to give more color as to other ways that we might be able to help in the upcoming days or weeks.
