Mojo's Emergency Surgery Expenses

Donation protected
On October 24th, 2024 Mojo had surgery to repair the first of his two legs that have Luxating Patella, a condition where his back two kneecaps consistantly dislocate. This is incredibly painful for Mojo and both legs are at stage 4. His first surgery itself was successful however Mojo crashed post-surgery, it took 6 surgeons and vets 90 minutes to revive him. This was Mojo’s 13th surgery/procedure since he was rescued in May 2023, his little body is struggling to keep up with the toll of these ongoing surgeries and procedures.

Mojo joined Gab as a rescue in May 2023, she immediately set up pet insurance through Figo to help cover his medical needs. Unfortunately, most of Mojo’s critical surgeries, procedures and tests haven’t been covered, his policy benefits were quickly maxed out early on in his journey. His recent Luxating Patella surgery, along with the life-saving measures that followed, received no insurance assistance, leaving us to cover the costs on our own. Mojo’s left leg will still need to be operated on, this operation also will not receive any insurance assistance.

Mojo’s ongoing medical issues below:

May 2023-diagnosed with Pyoderma a bacterial infection severe that it took over both ears and left lesions in his folds and paws.

October 2023-diagnosed with stage 4 Luxating Patella in both back legs. Post surgery he will have weekly sessions of hydrotherapy to regain strength and mobility in both back legs. (estimated at $5,000/leg)

November 2023-diagnosed with Sleep Apnea and BOAS (Brachycephalic Obstructive Airway Syndrome) it was recommended that he have surgery to correct this immediately, he was no longer breathing on his own when sleeping.

December 2023- diagnosed with a herniated disc. Mojo begins to loose his ability to walk, shows signs that he is in pain and is taken to the ER. This injury occurred as a result of his legs giving out from Luxating Patella.

December 2023-BOAS surgery and procedures: Brachycephalic Airway Scope, Soft Palate Trim, Palatoplasty, Tonsillectomy, Laryngeal Sacculectomy & Laser Nares. While in surgery a hiatal hernia was found, repaired and a biopsy taken and sent to the University of Pennsylvania for further testing to rule out disease. His stomach biopsy revealed that Mojo has IBD. ($7,139.71)

May 2024- Mojo’s breathing did not improve, a revision surgery is recommended to get his breathing under control before either of his two legs are operated on.

June 2024-BOAS surgery and procedures: Re-Brachycephalic Airway Scope, Laser Nares, Incisional Palatoplasty, Laser Staphylectomy & Laser ablate Bilateral Laryngeal Saccules. ($3,606.23)

August 2024-allergy panel conducted due to severe skin infections and reactions to both food and environmental. ($352.40)

September 2024-diagnosed with such severe allergies a weekly shot made just for Mojo will be administered at home. This shot costs $100/week. ($5,200/year)

October 2024-Luxating Patella surgery on right leg.

Gab was approved for CareCredit, but the amount only provides coverage a small portion of Mojo’s ongoing medical expenses. With Mojo’s insurance benefits exhausted, Gab is now facing his surgeries and ongoing medical costs on her own. Any help you can offer, whether through donations or by sharing recommendations and resources, would mean so much to us—and Mojo sends his thanks, too!
