support mohand and his family in Gaza

Donation protected

Hi, my name is Janie and I have created this gofundme to help my friend Mohanad and his family of 7 urgently evacuate Gaza to Egypt. They have been living through one of the worst genocides in history for over 10 months and need to get to safety now. Of course they do not want to leave their homeland, but they are being forcibly displaced by the occupation. Mohanad is such an amazing kind soul with dreams and ambitions... he was even on his way to university until this aggression began. His family also have dreams and ambitions and deserve the basic human right to live. So please have an open heart to give anything even if it’s just $5. Thank you so much in advance for your generosity and humanity!

(Updates will be provided as we progress)

Here is what Mohanad wrote :

Hello, I am Mohanad from Gaza. I'm 19 years old. I'm Palestinian. My life before October 7 was full of happiness, ambition and optimism. I was hoping to study computer science at university, and I was also hoping to learn the English language fully.

But after October 7, my life changed completely. I lost all my ambitions that I had hoped to achieve. I lost my university, which I was only a few days away from entering, and I lost my school, all of whose beautiful corners are engraved in my memory. I have lost many of my friends and relatives that I loved, and my family is the last thing I have left in Gaza. I am trying hard to protect them because I cannot bear to lose any of them

I'm so embarrassed of you. I did not expect that one day I would resort to fundraising, but I had to. I'm sorry

In this war we have suffered from everything. We suffer from our inability to provide drinking water and sanitation, we suffer from our inability to buy food because of its very high price, we suffer from the severe cold because of our lack of clothes in the winter, we suffer from the severe heat and skin diseases in the tents, and unfortunately we were forced to be forcibly displaced from our homes to tents in areas we had never seen before, similar to the desert.

This picture was a year ago, bringing me together with my brothers, whom I love very much, as our life was beautiful and full of happiness and ambitions.

This photo is one of my favorite photos, as it brings me together with my father, who always encouraged me to do good and love others. He is one of the purest people I have ever known in my life. He gave me this money in the picture on the day I passed high school

I took this picture on the happiest day of my life, when I was at my high school graduation ceremony, where I excelled and got a grade point average of 90.4.

I took this photo during the worst days of my life, when many good people I knew were martyred under the rubble of this house.

This photo I took when I was helping the displaced in tents and distributing flour to them

This picture brings me together with my brothers and some of my cousins, whom I can no longer see much because of this genocide

Do you think this is enough food for a 19 year old who works 9 hours a day?

Unfortunately, this is what I eat in a full day

Every time I look at this picture, I feel so proud. This picture was about 8 years ago of me, the school principal, and my classmates when we excelled in school with high grades.

This photo was taken a few days ago of a huge explosion in Rafah that killed an entire family of 14 people. Unfortunately, one of those martyrs was my childhood friend.

This is my grandmother, she is 82 years old, she suffers from heart and artery diseases, and her health condition is very difficult. We cannot find any of the medications she was taking before the war because they have run out. We are very afraid that something bad will happen to her.

This is my little brother Mahmoud taking a picture behind the great destruction that occurred in our displacement site in Khan Yunis.

This is my brother Awad standing in front of a school that was completely destroyed by the occupation. Children have lost their future since childhood.

This is the grave of my cousin who was martyred two months ago by a bullet from an Israeli sniper.

This photo was taken about a month ago when I was displaced with my family in Khan Younis next to our simple and small tent.

These are the incendiary flares that are dropped on us every day in Rafah and when they fall they burn down houses.

This is Fadi, one of my relatives. He was martyred while sitting at lunch with his family in the tent in Mawasi, Khan Yunis, when a missile from a reconnaissance plane fell next to his tent. He loved me very much, and I used to sit with him all the time, exchanging talk and laughter.

This is my brother Mohammed. He took this photo when I was displaced in Khan Yunis. We were sitting in the courtyard of a destroyed school. All that remained of it was this wall that we were sitting on next to our tent.

  • Update from Mohand

All those in the picture are martyrs who were martyred in the last two months and they are all my cousins and relatives and there are many more and I will publish their pictures for you later. I am really tired of losing my relatives, friends and cousins whom I love.

  • Update from Mohand

On 10/8/2024, I was sitting with my brothers, cousins, and neighbors near my house. We were talking and laughing, and suddenly a missile from a drone fell between us, killing 4 of my cousins and injuring 3 of my brothers. There are still 5 of my cousins in intensive care at Nasser Hospital in Khan Yunis. This is a major massacre that was committed against my family

These are pictures of my three brothers who were shot in the massacre committed against my family

This is my brother Mohammed, 17 years old, he was injured in his leg and hand and lost a finger

This is my brother Yamen, 15 years old He was injured in his shoulder and thigh

This is my brother Awad, 12 years old He was seriously injured in his leg and can't move his leg

  • These are pictures of my five cousins that I lost in this genocide

This is Samer Al-Nahhal, my cousin. He was martyred in the massacre. He has three children who are now fatherless.

This is Muhammad Al-Nahhal, my cousin, who was martyred in the massacre. He was waiting for the war to end so he could travel to fix his future, but unfortunately he died before achieving his dream

This is Yasser Al-Nahhal, my cousin, who was martyred in the massacre. He was 15 years old. Shortly before his death, he was laughing a lot with us.

This is Yazan Al-Nahhal, my cousin, who was martyred in the massacre. He was 11 years old. He loved playing football. He was a very good child. I can't believe I lost them.

  • Update from Mohand

Unfortunately, the big explosions close to me and my family have been continuing for more than 14 months.

These foods are a big dream for us to eat, even though they are very simple, consisting of bread and some herbs inside them, such as thyme and spinach, because nothing is available in the markets, and if it is available, it will be at a very high price.
