Mohammed Yahya (Tampa, FL) Medical Help

I have created this Go-Fund-Me to help sponsor Mohammed Yahya during these trying times. He would never ask for the help but I feel it is the least I can do knowing what he and his family are up against.

Mohammed experienced abdominal pain on July 17, 2022. He asked his wife, Jamilah, to take him to the hospital the following day. The physicians discovered a ruptured colon and shortly thereafter performed an emergency colostomy operation on Mohammed for 4.5 hrs due to an infection & waste leak throughout his body. Due to complications in recovery, Mohammed stayed in the hospital 9 days until being released. The emergency surgery & hospital bill is in excess of $200,000. He had additional complications and pain and had to go back to the ER a few days later for over night stay and minor procedure.

Mohammed will need another surgery, colostomy reversal, in 3-6 months followed by another hospital stay. More importantly, the hospital has made it clear that the upcoming second surgery and stay will not be discounted. Mohammed is responsible for partial of first hospital stay along with the surgery bill and all of the next surgery and hospital stay. We are working on securing health insurance in hopes it will cover some of the upcoming surgery.

Mohammed will be unable to work during the upcoming months, therefore unemployed. Mohammed needs additional support to attain health insurance to absorb some of the future expenses and upcoming surgery costs. Additionally, some support is needed to cover recurring monthly living expenses and expenses tied to health care / meds / medical supplies. Without the necessary funds, his required reversal surgery would be in jeopardy.

(12k-15k for health insurance and deductible, 12k-15k to help with living expenses, medical supplies while not working (6 months), 7k-10k for past surgeon bill, remaining for hospital bills (TBD))
