Dr. Mohammad Hammad is a young doctor from Gaza who refused to let war define his future.
Over the past two years, Mohammad completed medical school during the war — working in overwhelmed hospitals, treating patients under bombardment, and continuing despite severe shortages and the destruction of his university. He lost friends, colleagues, and mentors — yet he never stopped.
Shortly before graduating, Mohammad was awarded a 12-month Neurology Research Fellowship at the Centre for Clinical Brain Sciences, University of Edinburgh, under Professor Rustam Al-Shahi Salman, a world leader in stroke research.
He is now a medical intern and plans to begin this fellowship in December 2026.
His work focuses on improving stroke care in conflict-affected regions like Gaza — helping build systems that can directly save lives.
However, this opportunity is not funded, and he must cover:
- Travel costs
- Visa fees
- Living expenses
- Accommodation in the UK
To make this life-changing step possible, Mohammad needs your support.
Your contribution will help him:
• Access world-class training unavailable in Gaza
• Conduct research to improve care in war-affected regions
• Return home with skills to strengthen healthcare systems
This is more than one doctor’s journey —
it’s an investment in better healthcare for countless patients.
Every donation, no matter the amount, makes a difference.
If you can’t donate, sharing this page is just as valuable.
Thank you for your support.
