Assalamu alaykum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh.

Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji'un ‎(إِنَّا لِلّهِ وَإِنَّـا إِلَيْهِ رَاجِعونَ) "Indeed, we belong to Allah, and indeed, to Him we shall return."

Our beloved Mohamed Abdi Alin has passed away and returned to Allah swt at the young age of 28. He was a cherished Son, Brother, Cousin, Uncle, and Grandson, deeply loved by numerous friends and members of the community. May Allah swt raise Mohamed to the highest levels of Jannah and surround him with His mercy and forgiveness. Allahumma Ameen.

We have established this fundraiser page as a Sadaqa Jariya (ongoing charity) for him, Insha'Allah. My brother Mohamed was a gentle, kind-hearted individual who could never eat while knowing someone else was hungry. He despised witnessing the suffering of others. Whatever he possessed, he would willingly share. This is how many of us cherish his memory. Mohamed battled with Diabetes and its complications throughout his life and sadly passed away due to this illness. It is only right that we continue to support causes that would not only benefit him in the hereafter but that he would also champion if he were with us today.

The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) stated, "When a person dies, their deeds cease except for three: Sadaqah Jariyah (ongoing charity), beneficial knowledge, or a righteous child who prays for them (the deceased)." (Sahih Muslim) We are striving to raise funds to construct a masjid in Somalia, Inshallah. This will serve as an extension for a school that currently lacks sufficient space for children and for prayer. The remaining funds will be used to assist other children and individuals who are also in need, and if Allah wills, to even dig some wells. May Allah accept this as Sadaqa Jaria for Mohamed and grant him Jannatul Firdaus, forgiving him and us for our shortcomings. Allahumma Ameen.
