Moel Siabod Sportif 2025 - 105 Mile Cycle for MND

Members of the SSS Cycle Club, along with many others, are once again taking on the gruelling Moel Siabod Sportif bike ride — and this year, it’s extra special.

On June 28th, 2025, riders will tackle over 105 miles with an eye-watering 9,500 feet of ascent across the breathtaking but brutal mountainous roads of Snowdonia. This year’s event marks the 10-year anniversary of the Moel Siabod Sportif, making it even more meaningful. To honour this milestone, and to support a cause close to our hearts, we’re riding in aid of Matt Gallagher and his battle with Motor Neurone Disease (MND).

Matt Gallagher was diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease in October 2023, and his determination to support the MND community, despite facing his diagnosis, is truly inspiring. Matt is a hugely popular figure in the rugby community, and the work he and his family have done to support others with MND over the past 18 months is extraordinary.

The Matt Gallagher Foundation is a charity dedicated to helping people suffering from Motor Neurone Disease in the Midlands area. It aims to offer support to both patients and their families. Whether it’s funding a stairlift, a wet room, or helping to fund a dream holiday to create lasting memories with loved ones, they understand that time is of the essence — and that delays from larger organisations can often cause additional pain and suffering. The Foundation’s goal is to make quick decisions and provide support when it’s needed most.
