Moe Baghdadi

Dear friends, family, and caring community members,

We come to you today with heavy hearts and a crucial mission to support one of our own during this challenging time. Our dear friend and coworker Moe Badhdadi recently experienced a life-altering motorcycle accident that has left him with serious injuries, requiring extensive medical treatment and a long road to recovery.

On Sunday May 7th, 2023, Moe was involved in a motorcycle collision caused by an individual who had previously been charged with a DUI. This person, operated a company van and collided with Moe. The impact caused Moe to be dragged approximately 75 feet along another road, still attached to the van by his helmet. With considerable effort, Moe managed free himself from the vehicle by releasing his helmet.

Following the accident, Moe was promptly rushed to the hospital, where he underwent emergency surgery to repair damage to his bladder and undergo spleen removal. Medical examinations also revealed a minor brain bleed and a non-surgical fractured lumbar vertebrae. On the subsequent Thursday, Moe underwent another surgical procedure to address his left arm and dislocated elbow. Additionally, his pelvis was repaired using an external fixator.

Moe recently received a diagnosis of ileus, a complication arising from the accident. To aid in the healing of his gastrointestinal system, an emergency nasogastric (NG) tube was inserted to drain his stomach. Subsequently, he will require another surgery to remove the external fixator and reconstruct his pelvis. This will be followed by an extended period of rehabilitation, anticipated to last at least six months, as Moe relearns how to walk.

As we gather together, we recognize the immense financial burden that Moe and his family are facing. With mounting medical bills, ongoing therapy sessions, and the loss of income due to an extended absence from work, it's clear that our support can make a world of difference in their healing journey.
