Recently I was contacted via Instagram by a young man living in Gambia, Africa. His name is Modou Lamin Bah. He shared his story with me and now I want to share it with the rest of the world.

Modou is the oldest of six. He and his siblings live together with his diabetic Grandmother. Unfortunately, after the recent passing of his mother, he was left as the sole provider for his family of seven. Despite the extreme poverty in Gambia, he managed to provide for his family until Covid-19 impacted the whole world. As you can imagine, he was left jobless like many others worldwide.  In addition to being behind on rent and no longer being able to send his oldest sister to school, Modou has had to resort to collecting food from a local restaurants dumpster in order to keep his family from starving. No human should have to ever do something like that. I'd hope you can agree. 

I cannot afford to give him all the financial help his family is in need of but with his permission I am reaching out. I am sharing  some  pictures he sent me to validate this fundraiser. However if you would like to contact him directly please email me and I will put you in contact with him. Modou is willing to prove his situation to anyone via documents or video chat.

Just a few hours after Modou received what little I could afford they sent me a video thanking me, sitting with a meal.
