Modot Worker Killed on Duty

Donation protected

Clifton J Scott, Sr. was killed by a drunk driver September 21,2012 while working on highway for the Missouri Department of Transportation.  Our family was able to save his house, but only after several people have stolen over 20 years of his belongings that he worked hard for. To be clear, we did not leave the house abandoned. We had to go through probate court to get the house and we had people checking on the house. Donations sent to us from MoDot were dropped off by mail in a box and also stolen, in front of our house. We never recieved it. We have put money into saving the house and trying to replace everything. Directly after his death, several people broke into his home and took everything out of his house. Those items include all of his furniture, such as his tools, computers, televisions, dinning room set, patio furniture, bedroom sets, riding lawnmower, washer and dryer, refrigerator, stove, the copper pipes, the hot water heater, his vehicles and they broke several windows. We lost several memories including pictures, clothing and personal things we can never get back. As a result of this, the family had to survive in terrible conditions, without electricity in most of the house and without  water.  We are hoping to raise enough money to repair things on the house and replace stolen items. Clifton Scott dedicated 15 years of his life to MoDot helping people and he died a hero. The family is sadden by the aftermath of his loss and the items being stolen and would like the opportunity to rebuild our lives.
