Modemhead: a story of isolation and disconnection
Modemhead is a 2008 cyberpunk short film about isolation and disconnection via the internet:

I'm here to make the short into a feature-length film.
If you watch the short, I feel it has become more relevant as time has gone on. People have become more and more connected online, and more distant physically. I write this now in 2020 after I myself have been diagnosed with COVID-19 and have to isolate, so I'm thinking about this like I never have before. Today, streets are empty and people wear masks in public. Children attend school by looking at a screen. Internet withdrawal is a real disease.
In case my diagnosis isn't a death sentence, I want to get this short film made into a feature:
*All funds raised will go to producing the feature. That means sets, costumes, equipment, makeup, everything that needs to happen to make it work. In the short, we see a cold dystopia. I'm interested in creating and exploring a warm utopia and contrasting the two for the longer version.
*For your donation, you get a credit in the final version of the film.
It would mean a lot to me to have this made, and I'll say that if the worst happens to me, I'll designate another filmmaker to take on the funds and the project. I'd like to make this happen.
Thank you,
Victor Grigas
