Hello! We're Model United Nations at UC Riverside.

We are a completely student-led, club organization here at the University of California, Riverside. Our club aims to shape leaders of the next generation by embracing the format and simulation of the United Nations. Members of UCR MUN learn about international politics, sharpen their speaking skills, and polish their diplomatic capabilities through Model United Nations conferences. UCR MUN is an internationally recognized MUN organization and has won several regional and local awards and accolades over the years. It is our best hope that through this donation link, we can raise sufficient funds to aid the cost of conferences, events, and all MUN activities.

As a club and student organization, our Executive Board seeks to build several events, activities, and opportunities for our General Members. Each quarter is usually filled with local conferences, such as our very own R’ MUN, and other regional events. Conferences are at the heart of Model United Nations; in which members, referred to as delegates, emulate diplomats of their assigned countries and work together to create a resolution to a given political issue. Delegates are expected to research their country's policies, form comprehensive solutions, make captivating speeches, and ultimately lead groups of delegates to pass a resolution document. This style of conference-competition embraces values such as collaboration, global awareness, and diplomatic leadership, all of which are aligned with the U.N’s mission.

One of our most unique aspects as a club is the opportunity to travel. In this past academic year alone, we were able to send our delegates to the National Model United Nations Conference in Washington, D.C., and Erfurt, Germany. The preparation period for NMUN conferences is held months before and is a vigorous process that equips traveling delegates with the skills they need to excel on the national and international level. All conference logistics, payments, and necessary arrangements are handled by the Executive Board and Community Advisor.

Though we are a professional club, we also hold many other events, socials, and activities. Whether that’s a quick bite to eat or law school seminars, UCR MUN is always looking for ways to bring our community together. For many of us, MUN has become like a home away from home; filled with memories, lessons, and friendships that have defined our college experiences. In the years that we have been active, we are incredibly grateful to see everyone who has come to UCR MUN and learn about all it has to offer! In the future, we hope to continue to strive forward and create even more opportunities for the many delegates to come.
