This is to fundraise for the Mark Modderman/Mike Siau Worrell 1000 campaign, which is celebrating it’s 50th anniversary in May 2024.

The Worrell 1000 is a one thousand mile Catamaran race on F18’s from Daytona Beach to Virginia Beach.

We would like to dedicate this endeavor to some very special people, some of whom are no longer with us. My Dad, who, from an early age always encouraged the adventurous spirit in me, and taught me to keep reaching for my dreams and never give up. To Mike’s brother and niece, who tragically left this world too soon. To Sandra Tartaglino, who was an inspiration to my love of sailing and a past Worrell warrior - I think this event changed her life for good. I would like to thank my wife, Christie, who encouraged me to pursue the bucket list dream I have had since I was 16 years old.

We would like everyone who has contributed so far for their very generous donations - words of thanks are not enough.

We would also like to acknowledge the wonderful members of our team. Wally Myers, who will be Beach Captain. Wally is a Hobie legend, 7 time National Champion, past Worrell competitor and just a pretty cool guy. Lynn Myers, also an accomplished catamaran skipper in her own right. Adding to our awesome ground crew is also Sue Korzeniewski who completed the Worrell as a female skipper and a multiple North American woman’s champion.

Your support and donations would be most welcome. This is a monumental endeavor that will push us to our limits and beyond physically and mentally, making it all the more worthwhile. You will all be taking this journey with us.

Also, although it says this is Grace's fundraiser please don't be fooled, all money will go to the Modderman/Siau race campaign. Mark's wonderful daughter, Grace, has simply helped to set up this GoFundMe and will not be participating in the race. She will leave that up to Mark and Mike and wishes them the best of luck! :)
