Mobility Van for Clifford Charles

Donation protected
Clifford Charles Anthony has been a vibrant and faithful servant of the Lord for many years, having served in his church at Great Hills Baptist Church and led mission teams to various countries with his devoted wife, Lynnette.

Their life of serving in the mission field came to a halt on October 8, 2012 after Clifford Charles suffered a massive stroke leaving him virtually paralyzed and comatose, and given a 5% chance of surviving.  With God's grace, Clifford Charles survived and has been working and fighting extremely hard to become mobile again.

Clifford Charles' mental capacity is still sharp, his speech has noticeably improved, and he has regained some of his motor skills, although his mobility is still quite limited.   The most difficult task that he and Lynnette continue to struggle with is transferring him safely from the wheelchair to their Rav 4 and back.  It has been a very challenging and dangerous feat for both of them for the past 3 1/2 years since his release from the nursing home.

Lynnette performs around 30 vehicle transfers each week as she takes Clifford Charles to doctor appointments, therapies, and church.  It is taking a detrimental toll on her spinal health, and Clifford Charles has sustained permanent nerve damage to his right arm from grasping onto the vehicle door in his attempts to assist in the transfers.  Lynnette is 5'0" tall, and Clifford Charles is 6'0", 285 lbs.  His legs weigh around 60 lbs. each, and he is unable to lift the left leg on his own at all.  They have had to call 911 several times when transfer efforts have failed.

Through steadfast hope, faith, and prayers, Lynnette and Clifford Charles have resisted the doctors' recommendations to obtain a van with adaptive equipment as they held onto their visions of his total restoration and healing.  While they still cling to this hope, they have accepted that there are still needs to be met for their well-being in the meantime, and the most imminent need is a van.

For the past 9 months, they have been prayerfully seeking options of how to meet this need.  After many closed doors, God has led them to the van that they believe He plans to supply that will meet their transportation needs perfectly.  We realize that the cost of the needed van is huge at $57,741 including accessibility conversions, but we also realize that we serve a HUGE God that loves us and desires our continuous prayers!

We have received inquiries from our church families and friends on how they can help.  Please pray for the provision of a van for Clifford Charles and Lynnette.  If you are able to make a financial donation to the van fund, any amount will be greatly appreciated.

Thank you for taking the time to read their story and be in prayer for this dear couple.

May the God of hope and peace bless you and your families in special ways!
