Ten years ago, I began noticing subtle but heartbreaking changes. His hands trembled. His confident stride turned into a hesitant shuffle. His speech slurred. I remember thinking, “Is he drunk at 8 in the morning?” But deep down, I knew something far more serious was happening.

Moses—once a passionate, powerful attorney who stood tall in courtrooms defending the innocent—was beginning to lose the very abilities that defined his life. Eventually, we received the devastating diagnosis:

Multiple System Atrophy (MSA)—a rare, aggressive neurological disorder that robs a person of their movement, coordination, and independence.

Today, Moses can no longer walk on his own or care for himself. But his spirit remains unshaken. If you know Moses, you know he’s still full of light—his strength, humor, and compassion continue to shine through every challenge.
