Jennifer has always been a fighter—an athlete, a water polo player, a hiker, a fierce friend. She’s been my rock through some of the hardest moments in my life. Now, she needs us.
At just 40, after years of battling aggressive Multiple Sclerosis, Jennifer is now quadriplegic and fully bedridden. She cannot sit up, move her limbs, or feed herself independently. Even leaving the house for a medical appointment requires calling non-emergency ambulance transport—an exhausting and undignified process, not covered by insurance.
She is trapped in the four walls of her bedroom, dependent on her loving husband, Harry, for 24/7 care. He handles everything—meals, bathing, medication, transfers—all with unwavering love, but the toll is enormous.
We’re raising $10,000, which is Jennifer’s out-of-pocket portion for a specialized motorized wheelchair that lifts, tilts, reclines, and supports her body. These advanced chairs cost over $60,000—insurance will cover some, but not nearly enough.
- This chair would give Jennifer the ability to:
- Sit up and reposition herself safely
- Qualify for city disability transportation instead of relying on ambulance rides
- Be moved into another room, or even outside, with support
- Experience some autonomy and comfort again
If we raise more, any extra will go toward a wheelchair-accessible vehicle, helping her and Harry leave their home safely and independently—something they haven’t been able to do in a long time.
Jennifer is not asking for a cure. She’s asking for a chance to move, to sit upright, to feel fresh air on her face again—without needing an ambulance to leave her home.
She has shown up for so many people in her life. Please help us show up for her now.
Any donation, no matter how small, and every share brings us one step closer. Thank you for reading, caring, and giving.
