Wyland Mobile Science Center Upgrade

If there’s one thing we’ve learned from years of work with schools and communities across the country, it’s that our kids deserve the best educational experiences we can give them. That’s why we are reimagining and upgrading the interactive theater aboard our acclaimed clean water Mobile Learning Experience (MLE). We are nearing our fundraising goal of $85,000 for this project – but now we need your help to put us over the top!

The Wyland Clean Water MLE is a 1,000 square foot mobile science center on wheels entirely dedicated to inspiring and educating thousands of young people every year about what we can do to protect our ocean, lakes, rivers, streams and wetlands. It contains powerful interactive exhibits – from how we manage our freshwater to marine ecosystems -- that are proven to expand student knowledge and interest in the environment. In fact, we’ve delivered this award-winning program to more than 1 million students in inner cities, farming communities, and suburban areas.

Our new surround theater will feature state-of-the-art lighting, audio, and an incredible array of video screens for a completely immersive learning experience – whether we’re simulating the undersea world or descent from space. This virtual experience includes additional interactive effects like wind that synchronize with the video content that students will remember for the rest of their lives.

In closing, please know that anything we raise beyond our goal will go directly towards content production and our companion app, “Streams of Hope." The Streams of Hope app brings together people across the country to share in the care, health and future protection of their favorite lakes, streams, wetlands, rivers, and coastlines.
