Mobile Home for Emergency Accommodation

A Woman's Hearth...Helping one homeless woman at a time.

Hearing about a local woman (Maire Garvey, Louisbourg, Co. Mayo) who is to be made homeless in a couple of weeks I felt I had to help. I don't have the space to offer her accommodation and she has done everything possible over the course of 10 months to find a solution, a home. There are no supports, there is no one to help navigate through this awful time. This woman, an Irish OAP, is now at the end of her tether.

I propose to purchase a Mobile Home with the funds raised here (second hand but in good condition) and to find a site where it can be pitched and this woman can live in it until a house comes up for her from the County Council or another housing body. She is on the lists.

Once she is housed, the Mobile Home will be available for another woman in a similar situation.

Women on their own, no matter how strong, are left vulnerable and alone when facing homelessness. We can help, one person at a time...

Will you help me buy this Mobile Home? I cannot stand by and watch an Irish woman in her 60s be thrown out on the streets, through no fault of her own. It is an utter disgrace.
