Unfortunately, my moon and stars and friend to all, Tubby, is in critical care with a severe diagnosis of pancreatitis that requires hospitalization in order for him to recover.

Through numerous orders of bloodwork and an ultrasound, we have been able to determine that Tubby's pancreas is in really bad shape and it is starting to effect his other organs such as his kidneys and liver. Without hospitalization, Tubby's pancreas will become necrotic, his organs will shut down, and ultimately he will not survive.

The care plan for his condition involves around the clock monitoring, IV fluids, pain medications, antibiotics, anti-nausea medication, and anti-inflammatories. We have also had to place a feeding tube to administer these medications, hydration, and food, as the pancreatitis is so severe he is unable to eat or drink.

At present, this has cost over $5,000 and grows each day, as hospitalization is costing $1000 per day, and while I do not expect anything, any help towards taking me on this bill would be so greatly appreciated, as it has put a significant strain on my finances.

I would not proceed if I thought that his quality of life would be diminished, or to prolong an inevitable demise.

The vets have told me that if we are able to keep him hospitalized and getting the care he needs, it is very likely he will make a full recovery without damage to his organs, and can continue to live his life as the yappy, cuddly, friendly little man that we all know and love.
