Help my husband Aurelian Nica fight for his life

My beloved husband Aurelian,
I imagine seeing his future, teaching our son to ride a bike, going on nature adventures, seeing him graduating from college. I imagine looking into his deep blue eyes and feeling his strong arms around me. I imagine hearing him laughing, enjoying life, doing what he loves most, playing football.
Then I wake up, and realise, it was just a dream and that our reality is in fact a nightmare, as he no longer walks, he cannot hug us anymore and we don’t know how much time he has left.
In just one year, he went from being a strong, active man able to do it all, to someone depending on my help for everything.

ALS Diagnosis
It had all begun in early spring of 2020 when we first noticed strong muscle spasms in his arms and legs. After seeing a neurologist, we had to go through all the possible tests to explain his symptoms as no one could believe that such a young and strong man can develop a terminal disease, such as ALS.
It was a long process of going back and forth to the hospital, due to Covid19 pandemic that was in full swing, but, finally, in May of 2021, the cruel diagnosis came, ALS.
When you are diagnosed with ALS, a terminal disease, you are forced to realize that all your plans and dreams are gone. Receiving a prognosis of only 2 to 5 years of life, knowing that eventually you become completely paralyzed without any chance to survive, sweeps the ground from under your feet.
It was devastating. Like an earthquake that shattered us into pieces. As a former policeman, my husband needed a plan, as a human being he needed hope. All I could do is care for him and pray for a miracle.
Why does it happen?
What will happen to us, to our son?
How do we fight it?
Today, I still have no answers to why it happens, but I do know how I can help, how you can help us.
ALS is an extremely expensive disease, and while I struggle to keep working, while caring for my husband and raising our 9-year-old son, we are alone, with no immediate family to support us.
I find it increasingly difficult to support my small family and fight this disease. As no medical cure is available, through our own research, the supplements, vitamins and medical equipment that my husband needs have put a strain on our finances.
So, having found a medical clinic in Miami US, the only one that shows hope in fighting this terrible disease, we can't pay for the medical treatments, the trip and accommodation. The costs for the first visit rise to USD 50,000.
Please donate what you can to help my husband fight for his life.
Thank you,
Elena
