Support for Jason Burdick

Allow me to introduce you to Jason Burdick; 48 (or as he may say 35), a man of faith, family, and friends. Father to 3 beautiful girls Jessi, Alexis, and Emma, husband to an angelic Angelica Burdick, twin brother to Bryon Burdick, younger brother to Shane Burdick, son of Frank and Christine Burdick, in-law to many (including myself), and friend to countless. He’s a complete bad ass “Dirty Bandanna” with a heart of pure GOLD! A man that AWESOME must have a wonderful head on his shoulders you would think, or rather, wherein lies the problem…

In 2021 after experiencing various ailments and much pain, Jason received an emergent MRI which showed a very large brain tumor on his pituitary gland intertwined with his optic nerve. As if that wasn’t enough, the tumor had ruptured causing an immediate need for surgical life saving intervention. In 2021, the tumor was removed through the nasal cavity as much as possible to save Jason’s life and vision. Since surgery in 2021, the tumor had regrown and is now larger and more angry than it previously was.

On October 10th, 2023 Jason was escorted by prayer, and unfailing support from his wife, Angelica Burdick and their devoted oldest daughter Jessi into, yet again, ANOTHER life saving surgery to remove that same tumor. Surgery took place in Oklahoma City, hours from home, and comfort.

This time it was necessary to preform a cranial surgery to operate on Jason’s brain tumor. Surgery began that morning at 7:30 am, progress was slow but looked promising UNTIL at 4:50pm (8+ hours after surgery initially began) Jason experienced a stroke on the operating table. Surgery abruptly ended and Jason was taken directly to MRI to confirm. After some time, the conclusion was that Jason had indeed suffered a stroke during surgery. The doctor was unable to fully remove the tumor because of the complications of the stroke.

Immediately, loved ones flocked to be with Jason and there for Angelica. At this time, Jason is recovering from surgery, a stroke, and intense pain under the care of a medical team in Oklahoma City.

Much is unknown at this time as to what Jason’s future medical needs will be but, praise God, he is expected to recover. Jason has lost some function on the left side of his body and is experiencing lax movement in his right eye where the tumor had been intertwined with the optic nerve. BUT…is improving! He has a very large wound on his head which was the sight of his cranial surgery. In the future Jason plans to get a bad ass tattoo from his twin brother to commemorate his brain tumor and surgery, should further medical intervention not be needed.

I ask that you please pray and generously donate funds in support of Jason Burdick and his beautiful family, to aid in recovery, travel expenses, and missed time from work for both Jason and Angelica. Recovery itself will be lengthy, costly, and difficult. Time away from work for Jason will be great in length and difficult to endure financially. I ask that you please honor this family with prayer, support, and love by donating to this fund for Jason Burdick.
