  • Update #2: Waylons first appointment in Boston is April 2 at 10:30 to meet the Cardiologist there, DR. Porras Ingouville. We will also have appointments with the Vascular Surgeon as well as with the Nepherologist (kidney doc) the same week while there. Waiting to hear back on those. We are currently changing from 60mg blood pressure medicine to 90mg. Hopefully with the change and all the prayers, he will be able to be mobile again. He is in good spirits as he knows without a doubt that he is in God's hands and God is going to guide us in the right direction. Please pray that the blood pressure doseage change lowers his BP enough to be able to walk more than 10 minutes at a time and stays good until we make it to surgery. Thank you all from the very bottom of my Momma heart!
  • Update: Waylon has been accepted at Boston Childrens Hospital! He is a perfect canidate for the MAGIC procedure!! We will go to Boston in 2 trips. First, to meet the team that will save Waylons life. The Vascular surgeon, Cardiologist and Nepherologist (kidney doc). We are currently waiting on the call for those appointments! We should hear back within the next week. Once the meet and greet is complete, we come back home. They will then schedule his surgery, we will go back to Boston and be admitted to the hospital the night before surgery! The surgeon will use Waylons Arc of Riolan that constructed its self between his Superior and Inferrior arteries to do the by-passing of the aortic where it is to narrow. No synthetic material should be needed. This means it will grow with his body as he grows because its his actual artery and not synthetic. That means he should only need to have this surgery done once!! They will re attach his renal arteries to the bypass once complete. We should be in Boston 4 to 6 weeks for the surgery. Few days in ICU, 7 to 10 days in hospital and 1 week being discharged locally, then if all is well, theyblet us come back home. His blood pressure medicines and doses keep changing because when he is active, even just walking slowly for 5 minutes, his BP spikes. We are resting mostly while trying to find a good BP medicine combination that works best. Please continue to pray for our Waylon! This will be a long road to recovery! I can't wait until he can be a child thats able to walk, play and run again! Thank you so much for all the prayers, words, thoughts, visits and donations that keep flowing straight from God's finger tips! Waylon is a warrior with a whole team of warriors fighting for him! We are so blessed! I will update as I can!
  • Hi My name is April, I'm fundraising for my sister Carolyn Barnett, her son Waylon Hahn and his father Gene Hahn. He was born with a very rare condition called aortic stenosis. They are getting ready to head to Boston Massachusetts, to have a life saving surgery to reconstruct the lower aortic artery so that his kidneys and lower limbs will have enough blood and oxygen to function probably. This will be for their medical bills and stay in Boston, any donations would help tremendously as this will be a long unknown journey! They are residence here in Spencer County . Waylon attends Spencer County Middle School. He is 12, in 7th grade and needs as many continued prayers as he can get. Waylon is the grandson of Larry Barnett (Mary Elizabeth Hardin) and the former Mayor of Taylorsville for 34 years, the late Walter Hahn (Roy Gail Mobley). Any donations and prayers are greatly appreciated! Thank you!!!
