A.R.G.! provides the space and equipment for girls to explore and experiment with music through play, collaboration, writing, and recording. We believe equal access to creating music is essential to the growth of our community. The studio is located in St. Paul and open to girls ages 6-15 once a week at no cost to them. Our goal is to raise $20,000 for our first year of engagement.
Our Mission is to Amplify Girl’s Voices
By opening our doors to girls living in the Twin Cities with little-to-no experience creating music, we aim to bring voices into the world that otherwise may not be heard. Our reach is girls who do not have the means or access to instruments, practice space, and recording time. This project utilizes a hands-off approach, providing the space and tools, while letting the girls decide the rest.
A donation in any amount is deeply appreciated.
Your donation will directly support these group activities:
Instruments for every girl to take home
Designing band tees
Creating album covers
Pressing vinyl singles
Studio recording time
With your help, we are able to support youth in music at a grassroots level.
Lori Barbero, of Babes in Toyland, will produce each single that comes out of the studio. The practice space has been donated by a local supporter of music.
