Dear Friends, Family, and Kind-Hearted Supporters,
My name is Gerard Saez. I’m a 62-year-old single father doing my best to raise two incredible kids—Julian (15) and Chloe (10).
This past year has been the most difficult chapter of our lives.
In September 2023, my children’s mother, Jacqueline (49), passed away suddenly and tragically. Her loss shook us to the core. Since then, we’ve been doing our best to cope, grieve, and move forward as a family. All three of us have been attending therapy to help process the pain and support one another emotionally.
Then, just last week, I was laid off from work—completely unexpectedly. It couldn’t have come at a worse time. Rent was due on the 1st, and I had been counting on my paycheck to cover it. With Julian starting high school in August and Chloe entering 5th grade, the financial strain has only intensified.
Since losing my job, I’ve been doing everything I can to find short-term work, apply for assistance, and reach out to rental aid programs. Unfortunately, many of these organizations are out of funds, and time is running out.
That’s why I’m turning to you—our community of friends, loved ones, and compassionate strangers—for help.
It’s incredibly hard for me to ask, but I’m facing the real possibility of not being able to pay rent or keep food on the table. I’m asking for your support to help keep a roof over our heads and ensure my children have what they need for school and day-to-day life.
Every dollar raised will go directly toward rent, groceries, school supplies, and other essentials while I continue my search for steady work.
Any donation, no matter the size, truly makes a difference. Even the smallest contribution helps us get one step closer to stability and peace of mind.
If you're not in a position to donate, sharing this campaign with others would mean the world to us.
Thank you for taking the time to read our story and for your kindness during this incredibly difficult time.
With deep gratitude,
Gerard Saez
