I'm starting this fundraiser on behalf of two amazing people, Cheli and Louie, who are going through an incredibly difficult time with their baby, Jesse. Jesse recently suffered a serious spinal injury and has lost the use of his back legs. The only hope for him to walk again — and to live free from pain — is an urgent spinal surgery that comes with a cost they cannot afford alone.

Jesse is more than just a dog — he’s family.

He’s been Cheli and Louie’s loyal companion, their shadow, their joy. His playful spirit, gentle nature, and unconditional love have brought light into their lives every single day. Seeing him unable to move and in pain is heartbreaking.

Right now, Jesse has not yet been fully diagnosed. The most critical next step is getting an MRI, which will allow the vets to clearly identify the cause of his paralysis and determine the exact treatment path. They strongly suspect it may be a slipped disc — which would require spinal surgery — but nothing can be confirmed without this imaging.

Whether it turns out to be a disc issue or a blood clot, both possibilities will require extensive care — from surgery to ongoing visits, treatments, and medications. The estimated cost of the MRI, surgery and follow-up care is around $50,000, and the sooner this process begins, the better Jesse’s chances of recovery.
