It is nearly 10 years now since my son Joe's epilepsy started.  Joe was a bright, funny, curious, clever and very happy little boy.  Then one day from out of the blue he had a seizure.  Over the following months and years, Joe's epilepsy became increasingly severe and began to block his neurological pathways leaving him unable to talk, play, learn and care for himself in any way.  He has tried numerous anti-epileptic medications, extreme diets, steroid therapy, anti-biotic therapy, had countless prolonged EEGs and other invasive investigations, until finally he had a major brain operation.  So far, nothing has reduced the seizure activity in Joes brain and Joe's cognition and quality of life continue to decline.  For the past 3 years Joe has been waiting to start a new cannabis based medication called Epidiolex. However, the government have not licensed this yet and Joe will have to wait a further 6 months at least until he can  start this potentially life changing medication. 
Whilst waiting for this new drug, I have purchased various legal cannabis oils for Joe  to try and have informed his consultant of this.  Joe has had a good response to some of these oils particularly Endoca oil which was recommended by a friend who has worked in this field for many years. 
However due to the cost of the oil, I have not been able to try this out for longer than 1 - 2 weeks at a time.  For a week's worth of oil, the cost is around £170 - £200. 
I am desperate for Joe to have an extended period of time on this oil as it could give him back the life he has lost. 
Please help me raise the funds to buy enough oil for Joe to use until he is given the medication he has waited so long for.  What has happened to my beautiful son Joe could happen to any child at any time.  It is tragic, heartbreaking and so very sad to see Joe suffer, but he's a fighter!
