Last week, Sara and Ryan’s son Rylan was diagnosed with the flu. On Monday, he got dramatically worse and so he was taken to the ED at Hays Med. He was found to have a low white blood cell count, blast cells, low platelets, fever, rash, etc. He was transferred to Children’s Mercy in Kansas City that day with concerns of leukemia. He has been quite unstable, Intubated and on a ventilator, talks of being placed on ecmo, and currently on CRRT (dialysis). He had a bone marrow aspiration today to confirm the diagnosis of whether or not he has leukemia. Once that is official, they will start to plan how to proceed. He has a very long road ahead of them, as do Sara and Ryan, Kaden and Allie, and all his family. They are requesting prayers. Children’s is locked down from visitors currently so there can be no plans of visiting. They are just trying to digest and aren’t really up to constantly updating, so she asked me to post. Today his vitals have finally stabilized, started getting good color back, pulses in his extremities, urine output, and has been weaned off blood pressure medications. So please keep them in your prayers. Be patient and understand if you don’t get texts back from them. They are overwhelmed. Thank you everyone for your love and support!

Sara and Ryan can use all the help anyone is willing to give. They need to be able to be there for Rylan, especially since nobody else physically can. It will undoubtedly cause financial strain and that should be the least of their worries right now. So any help is appreciated.
