Raisin Needs Your Help

Donation protected
Hi there, my name is Rachel and this is my beloved crazy boy, Raisin. He's the type of cat that runs sideways down hallways. He enjoys digging in the bathtub and sink. He loves blue balls, and only blue balls. He loves boxes. So much so that when he's in one, we push him around the house and he sits there looking around. We call it his spaceship. He really is a character.

Raisin had a really rough life in the beginning. Found with both eyes glued shut with infection, underweight, half the size of his siblings. With a lot of love from the beautiful people that work at a cat shelter, he was nursed back to life. He's been living with me for the past two years and has made a huge impact on so many people. I think most of us can relate that animals make a special imprint on our lives. They are family. He's my kid.

Recently, we heard Raisin yowling in pain one morning. It looked like he was trying to pee but just couldn't make it happen. We rushed him to the emergency vet as regular vets were not open yet. He was taken to the back and we were later pulled into the exam room. After some blood work and a urinalysis he was then diagnosed with FLUTD (feline lower urinary tract disease) with urinary obstruction. What this means is that there were crystals in his ureter which were large enough to completely block the flow of urine. It's a very painful experience and if not treated, he could go into kidney failure.

Of course we wanted our boy to be healthy again so we allowed them to hold our kid for the next few days. In order for that to happen, we needed to fork out half of the estimated bill, over a thousand dollars. We had to take out a loan for that.

We picked Raisin up two days later (we had to take out two more loans to cover the rest of the bill, one in which I could lose my car). Raisin was pretty groggy which I expected, and they gave me meds for the next few days. He did well, slowly getting back to his routine.

And then, just a few days after I got him back, he started having a lot of blood in his urine. Not a good sign. He could get blocked again and then the whole process will start again...if we can pay.

So I am asking for help so I can get the right care for baby. I am disabled and he keeps me sane, he keeps me present and he reminds me that there is fun and good in the world. I can't do this without him. I need him to be ok.

So I am asking for help, both to help cover past bills and loans, as well as upcoming costs. Raisin deserves a chance to live a happy, healthy life. He's only two. He's got so much more living to do. Thank you so much for your donation. We are so so grateful to you.
