Hello! My name is Kai Dickerson. I am a junior psychology major with an anthropology minor, on the pre-medical track at Spelman College. I'm thrilled to share that I have been selected for an immersive study abroad experience in Cape Town, South Africa with the Health Careers Program!

This opportunity in Cape Town holds a special place in my heart as it aligns perfectly with my career goals as an aspiring holistic psychiatrist and public health specialist. I'm eager to delve into the critical factors that influence health, from infectious diseases to the intricate web of social determinants.

My objective on this trip is to better comprehend how culture, history, and politics shape health outcomes. In a world where disparities in healthcare access persist, my aim is to become a leader who can bridge these gaps and make a meaningful impact on a global scale. The trip is scheduled to take place in the summer of 2024. The total cost of the trip is $4,000.00. This covers airfare, ground transportation, meals, and a wide range of incredible tours and experiences.
