Hi. I’m Marcus Taylor a 14 year old military youth, from San Diego, California. I am a first generation American as both my parents are naturalized citizens. My Dad is from Colombia and is currently an active duty sailor with over 22 years of service to our great nation. My mom, a dedicated military spouse, is from the Philippines and wears many professional hats as she stays at home taking care of me and my brother.
My journey with dance started when I was 4 years old and has developed into my pursuit to one day become a principal ballet dancer. I am truly dedicated and passionate to become the best of who I am each and every day.
I am a recipient of the highest achievement for the Youth American Grand Prix semi-final. This award is known as the Youth Grand Prix Award, which was awarded to me for both year 2020 and 2021. Most recently, I had the opportunity to compete in the 2021 Finals of the Youth America Grand Prix and won the Junior men category. After this accomplishment, I was awarded a tuition scholarship to the prestigious Princess Grace Academy in Monaco, founded by Princess Grace and directed by Luca Masala.
This is a rare opportunity but also an expensive one. My family has made many financial sacrifices to get me this far and I’m reaching out to request your support to help send me off to fulfill my dream.

More about me, my background story:
At the age of 4, my mom and dad thought it was a great idea after watching the “Dancing with the Stars” for my brother and I learn ballroom dancing, as it would help us be young gentlemen and treat others with respect.
Right from the start my teachers, family and friends pointed out that dancing came naturally to me. Looking back, what was suppose to be a recreational activity soon became a passion for me. Shortly after Ballet was introduced due to my ballroom teacher suggested it would help me with my ballroom training and the rest is history.
My teachers and dance schools early on recognize my potential and I received scholarships which allowed me to train as ballet and dance are very expensive— this gift alleviated the burden on my family’s financial situation.
Throughout the years as I began to explore and train in many other styles of dance, I’ve been fortunate to received continued financial support from all my dance schools. This support allowed me pursue opportunities and experience with ballet.
Fast forward - So many people continued to believe in me which brings me now to this amazing opportunity.
The Costs:
Princess Grace Academy offered me a program scholarship tuition to train in Monaco starting in September 2021/2022 season.
I am extremely humbled for this opportunity but I cannot afford all the costs. The breakdown of costs that my family has to cover includes:
My housing and meals in Monaco is a total of $8,076.36.
My visa, passport and required healthcare Insurance are approximately $1,100.
My flights will also be a huge expense - a round trip ticket roughly costs on average about $1,500 which involves, when program is closed down for break, going home to see my family. Example Formula One Grand Prix event occurs every May and the school closes down during that period— So flights back and forth would roughly come out to be a total of $4,500.
