Everything Lost in Home Fire
Donation protected
On the evening of March 6, 2019, my friend Michael was taking a nap, when his dog, Jessie, woke him up because he wanted to go on a walk. Less than 10 minutes later, he got a call from his neighbor that his apartment was on fire. In the span of about 15 minutes, the whole place was ablaze, and him and Tori (his fiancé) lost just about everything.
Their home was one of the six apartments which were damaged the worst in the fire. You can see from the pictures that the whole place was practically gutted. Today, they discovered that they were able to save a couple of memorable stuffed animals from when they were kids and some paperwork, but everything else is a total loss.
While they do have renters insurance, taking out a claim takes time, and there are immediate needs after a trauma like this. They will have to find new home, clothes, and daily necessities as soon as possible. Also, the cost of rebuilding from the ground up is massive. And even with insurance, they may not get the funds to completely replace everything that they lost.
Tori and Mike are two of the most selfless people I know. On a very personal note, last year I lost everything I owned and they went above and beyond in helping me get back on my feet. It's heartbreaking to see them lose everything, because I know exactly how they feel. Please help us help out people who never think twice about being there for others. Any amount is appreciated. Thank you in advance for all of your help!
