MML's Mountainous (half) Marathon

In Autumn 2023, the Mountain Training Trust (Plas y Brenin) partnered with the Mountain Adventure Fund (MAF) in a successful pilot programme enabling over 50 children from two London schools to join two one-week outdoor activity courses.

Their aim is to give every inner-city child the opportunity to be inspired and motivated by the rugged outdoors and the challenges mountain environments have to offer.

Having provided initial funding for a successful pilot programme in 2023, this year MML are offering volunteer time alongside our financial sponsorship, with a group of ten MML employees successfully completing a three-day training course to qualify them to join future school trips. Our volunteers will assist the instructors and school teachers during the residential trips, increasing the adult to child ratio and allowing the children to engage in more challenging activities.

A team from MML will be running in the Royal Parks Half Marathon on Sunday 13 October.
