My name is Dr. Pakisa Tshimika, Executive Director and Founder of Non Profit Mama Makeka House of Hope (www.mmhhope.org). It was created in honor of my mother Makeka who died due to poor health services in Kinshasa where she was living after my father died in 1985. She always told us that in our home, there was always room for one more. We want to promote the same ethos as we develop the Center for Professional Resourcing in Kinshasa.
I am raising funds to finish building the very much needed Centre for Professional Resourcing in Kinshasa, DR Congo. We already finished building the foundation, all the inside and outside walls. We need funding to work on building the roof, plastering the walls, electricity, and the floor.
The Democratic Republic of Congo is as country under going reconstruction after more than 30 years of wars and conflits. One of the main problems the country faces is ther lack of professional infrastractures. Therefore, the cernter as it is being developed is to fill this vaccuum felt in the country.
The vision for the Professional Resourcing Center is to provide space for Congolese professionals in education, peacebuilding and leadership development, and health to improve their skills and gain additional knowledge to allow them better serve in their respect ive organizations.
Furthermore, the center will also serve as the base for Mama Makeka House of Hope in the Congo and two emerging professional organizations - Francophone Institute for Peacebuilding and Leadership Development and Congolese Global Health Association.
