Picture of Steve and his daughter Taylor at her graduation from the Houston Police Department Police Academy.
Steve Post is the father of Taylor Post. Taylor has been a Houston Police Officer for almost 4 years and is currently assigned to our Southeast Division Gang Task Force. Steve was diagnosed with Renal Cell Carcinoma in 2015 and was given 1 year to live. He has fought with the illness tooth and nail for over 3 years and is now fighting for his life. Even though his body was being overtaken by cancer Steve continued to work full time until April 2018 when he was no longer able to keep up with it physically.
Saturday 10/13/2018 Steve was at home with his wife Tracy Post when he began to experience symptoms of vomiting and dizziness. He was rushed to the hospital and had to be put on a ventilator to keep his body from shutting down. Scans showed that the cancer had spread to his brain and 3 large tumors had formed at the base of his brain causing major swelling and subsequently shutting down his ability to breath and regulate his heart rate. Steve was transferred to another hospital to a neuroscience unit and the prognosis was eventual brain death. Doctors told the family that he would be completely brain dead within hours and as of 10/17/2018 he is still fighting for his life.
The family has at this point exhausted all financial resources attempting to battle this terrible disease and any help will be greatly appreciated. The medical bills continue to stack up and the possibility of "final" expenses are looming as well. Thank you in advance for any assistance and consideration in this matter and the family will be forever grateful.
On the morning of 10/19/2018 Steve lost his battle with a terrible disease that plagued him for so long. He fought tooth and nail but his body was unable to continue to fight the cancer. He left behind a loving wife, Tracy Post and three sons, Eddie, Stephen Jr. and Johnny along with his oldest daughter Taylor Post. Thank you so much in advance for any support that you may be able to provide financially or otherwise at this point. May peace come to those that need it most.
