Help Hayleigh Compete for Wales
Donation protected
As some of you already know I have been picked to represent my country at the International Mixed Martial Arts Federation [IMMAF] 2019 European Championships, in Rome (18th-24th June).
I am immensely proud to have been selected to represent the newly formed Welsh MMA Team. To make this even more special, I am the only female athlete, making me the first female to compete for the new Welsh squad.
To compete at such a high level has always been a dream of mine, one that I didn't think would become a reality. In January 2017 I underwent surgery to reconstruct my ACL following a total rupture. At the time I was told by several medical professionals that my knee would never be the same again. That I would struggle to train as I had before, let alone compete. Through sheer stubbornness, support from IPC and their excellent rehab advice, here I am!!
For those of you that aren't aware, IMMAF is all self-funded, although competing at such a prestigious event comes at a cost. I will struggle to cover these costs on my own. As an amateur athlete, I have never made any money from competing. I do it because it is what I love. Whilst some sports receive government funding, amateur MMA does not. I have always funded all my own training, nutrition and competition fees.
Any donations would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you in advance to anyone who is willing to donate to help me realise my dream!
For anyone wondering what your donations would help me cover, the amount asked for includes: flights, transport in Rome, accommodation, kit, entry fees (800Euros) etc.
