This is something incredibly hard for me to write. As I write this, my niece, Rose, is in ICU at Temple McLane Children’s Hospital in Temple, Texas. Sunday, February 8, 2015, Rose came down with a common cold. Due to asthma, her temp raised very quickly and by the time my sister Rachel, got home from work on Monday, Rose was barely breathing. They took her to the ER in College Station and they immediately flew her by Care Flight to Temple. She was immediately taken care of and oxygen levels were really dangerous, pneumonia had spread throughout her lungs and she was not doing well. Her first week, was really rough trying to get oxygen levels stable, clear pneumonia and treat this Rhinovirus (common cold). They have had to sedate her, in order for her body to relax enough for oxygen to enter into her body more easily. She has had to have several breathing machines switched out to not working properly and finally on a very special machine to open her lungs enough to get her oxygen levels where they should be. Unfortunately, all of these machines, helicopter rides and overnight stays in ICU is very expensive, and by all means completely worth it. I know my sister and brother in law would greatly appreciate anything you could do. Rachel has not left Rose’s side and will be taking off work until Rose is home. Rachel is a teacher and we all know we do not get that many days off. Rose has started to improve slow and steady. Which is great sign, her body is healing. She still has a long way to go in the next several weeks. As medical bills pile up, I do not want my sister to have to worry about how they are going to be able to pay for these, and I am asking for your help. Anything is more than they have and will be beyond appreciated. If you are not able to donate, we ask for your prayers and support as Rose’s body heals and is able to breathe on her own again. I greatly appreciate you sharing this, your donations and prayers for my sister and her family!
Thank you so much,
Have a Blessed day!
Sincerely,
Andrea Johnson
