Help Fund Our Legal Defense: Protecting Free Speech

Many of you know us from our coverage and discussion of McKamey Manor and the controversy surrounding it over the years.

Today, Brandon and I find ourselves in ongoing legal proceedings involving Russ McKamey. While Ben has also been named in the lawsuit, he has not yet been served. While we cannot discuss every detail of the case, we can say this: defending yourself in court is incredibly expensive.

This lawsuit has already cost us more than $35,000 in legal fees, and those costs continue to grow as the case moves forward and we prepare for our court hearings. What started as a commitment to speaking publicly about issues we believed were important has become a significant financial and personal challenge.

Why We Are Defending Our Case

We believe that everyday people should be able to speak openly, share their experiences, and participate in public conversations without fear that the cost of litigation alone will financially ruin them or force them into silence.

As funds are raised, they are currently being split and distributed directly to Kris and Brandon to cover the ongoing legal defense invoices for our active litigation. Please note that while a lawsuit has been filed that names Ben, he has not yet been served and is not currently an active party in this case. Should Ben be officially served and forced into this litigation, the funds will then be distributed to cover his legal representation as well.
