Terrance and Lola's journey to
AFRICA
Hello! My name is Ricky Pope I'm posting this on my cousin Terrance Russell page. On behalf of my cousins Terrance and Lola, I'd like to support them on their journey to AFRICA .
Terrance reunited with his dad and met his sister Lola for the 1st time 5 years ago. According to Terrance, his dad and sister made many attempts to find him. Terrance was aware that there was a possibility he may have a Sister. Lola had made contact with Terrance's mother 13 years ago. Terrance was traveling abroad at the time. By the time Terrance received the message and replied, It was too late. Apparently Lola's number changed!
It wasn't until Terrance received a friend request from his dad on Facebook 6 years ago. Terrance thought the request was odd since he had no contact with his dad since 1988. So he asked his dad, what was his mothers name? Once his dad named every one of Terrance's family members, he knew his dad found him. Not only was Terrance surprised about his dad. There was more news that he had a sister here in Minneapolis. In addition, Terrance has three more brothers and one sister in Lagos Nigeria. I recall reading Terrance's post about his dad finding him. I thought it was amazing and truly a blessing when that happened.

Back in the 70's, Terrance's dad was here studying at the University of Minnesota on a education visa. While studying, his dad ended up finding a job . One day at work, Terrance's dad got hurt on the job. The employer reported his injury. It indicated he was a student here on a student visa and was detained by immigration. You could not work on a education visa back then. Terrance and Lola's dad was still deported after a long strung out battle with immigration. He was only trying to support the child that was conceived even though his dad and mom split up a while Terrance was concieved. Later on, Terrance's dad met Lola's mom. Shortly after, Terrance's dad married her.
After being deported, it was difficult for his dad to return to the United States. Terrance' and Lola's dad did not touch American soil for over 30 years. After years of battling immagration, and Lola filing the documents to care for their dad, he was FINALLY granted entry back into the United States on a 2 year visa. So Terrance, his dad, and Lola were reunited TOGETHER IN PERSON for the 1st time in 2012.
His initial visit was for his health. Of course, who would not want to see their kids 1st? That is what their dad did before heading back out to Deleware later to be seen by their cousin who is a Doctor and have been monitoring their dads health. So after many tests, scans, it was deemed that their dad needed back surgery to correct his first back surgery done back in 70's. It had affected his walking. Since then, their dad had been diagnosed with prostate cancer.

There is a lot to be optimistic about. I know they are working hard in preparing for this journey. I know they like to see their Dad in person to ease any uncertainty. I'd like to see both of the make it to see their father. You never know how much time you have with cancer. This will help with costs associated with documents, and travel, and medical to help their dad. Any help or support for them is greatly appreciated. Help Terrance and Lola's journey in their time of need. I know the both of them are in the process of getting document approved and travel arrangements in order. I know that Terrance and Lola have already been working hard to make this a reality. This would make it Terrance's first time making this trip to Nigeria. Lola made her journey 9 years prior. I'd like to make this process easier for them knowing the dedication and hard work they have put into this. . As a family member, I want to be supportive since Terrance has been supportive of me after losing both of my parents in the last two months.
So what better way to return the favor!! FAMILY LOVE. So to all Family and friends please support my loved ones on their journey. All support is accepted. Please contact me (Ricky Pope) directly if you have alternative ways to help. You could also inbox or contact Terrance or Lola for ways to help. Any towels, wash cloths, linens, first aid preventatives , saline/ IV bags. Any support is appreciated.

Thank you,
Ricky Pope
