Over the past year, our lives have been turned upside down in ways we never could have anticipated. I’ve spent much of this year in and out of the hospital due to an ongoing medical condition that doctors are still trying to fully diagnose and treat. Despite countless tests, appointments, surgeries, hospital stays, and treatment attempts, we still don’t have clear answers or an effective long-term solution. The flare-ups are unpredictable and often severe, leaving me physically drained and unable to work consistently.

The uncertainty has been one of the hardest parts. Not knowing when the next flare-up will happen, how long it will last, or what the next hospital visit will bring has made it incredibly difficult to plan or feel stable. Each setback comes with more medical bills, missed work, prescription costs, and everyday expenses that don’t stop just because life gets hard.

This situation has placed an enormous strain on our family. Right now, my wife Alyssa is the only one able to work. She’s carrying the full weight of supporting our household on her own while also being a partner, a parent, and a caregiver through all of this. As hard as she works and as much as she does for our family, her salary alone simply isn’t enough to cover the growing financial burden we’re facing. Watching her shoulder so much responsibility while I’m sidelined by my health has been incredibly difficult for both of us.

We’ve done everything we can to try to stay afloat on our own. We’ve cut back wherever possible, used what savings we had, and pushed ourselves far past what’s sustainable just to make ends meet. But after months of setbacks, it’s become clear that we can’t do this alone anymore. Right now, we’re just trying to keep the bills paid, keep food on the table, and stay on our feet while continuing to search for answers and a treatment plan.

Asking for help is incredibly difficult, and not something we ever imagined having to do. But we’ve reached a point where support from others could make a real and meaningful difference. Any help at all—no matter how small—will go directly toward essential bills, medical expenses, and helping us get through this ongoing medical journey.
