I had a bicycle accident on Sunday jun/26 at night on my way back home from work, I was on bike lane and I had green light but the car cut my front without the signals on to make the turning. so I couldn’t stop suddenly and I lost control of my bike and crash into the asphalt. I’ve got my face, left shoulder, arm and my left side of my body hurt, with bruises and scratches.

The driver didn’t stop, fleeing the scene without any help. I was in shock and in hard pain so my friend came to help me and took me to the hospital.

I didn’t know how to proceed, I left the scene without calling cops or any emergency for a report, also I don’t have insurance so he took me to Bellevue hospital and the final diagnosis is that I have my left collarbone broken and I need 8 weeks to recover in order to heal properly. 

I work in the hospitality industry and without my arms I can’t do literally anything so I’m desperate and really worried about my situation.

Since I’m not going to be able to work for more than one month I won’t be able to work and without work I cannot pay my basic bills, like rent, food, transportation. Also, I’m paying for my daughter’s school in Colombia.

I just need help because I don’t have nobody here holding my back in this hard situation living in nyc as an immigrant.
