The Mike Russano Scholarship made it's debut in June of 2023. It is awarded annually to the Northport High School graduating applicant that personifies the scholarship’s namesake the most. Supported by the many who loved him, we're grateful for all donations in helping us establish a fund that will carry on Mike's legacy for decades to come.
About Michael Keith Russano (August 9, 1985 ~ May 22, 2021)
On Saturday, May 22, 2021, Michael's life ended tragically due to sudden cardiac arrest stemming from being diagnosed with cardiomyopathy. Known for his loving smile, endless generosity, and compassion for all he encountered, he was the unofficial Mayor of Northport High School.
He forged absurdly strong bonds with whomever he came into contact with by serving as a friend to confide in, a comedian, prankster, chivalrous gentleman, teammate, and leader. He was also quite possibly the all-time greatest host of social gatherings to grace the Crab Meadow neighborhood — much to his neighbors’ dismay.
Mike’s notable high school achievements include:
- 4 years of baseball
- 2 years of football
- Class Vice President
- Homecoming King nominee
- Buddy Program participant
- Students for 60k
- SHARE
- Interact Club
- Boys State
- Academy of Finance
No donation is too big or too small, we're grateful for all support — helping to carry on Mike's legacy for decades to come.
