Nala is my 4 year old fur sibling. She is beautiful, clever, affectionate, rambunctious, full of life and let’s face it, a bit of a melt sometimes - but above all, she is a big baby and we adore her.

She recently went lame on her forelimb/s and after a few scary vet visits, it was confirmed she has cruciate disease in both of her knees as well as medial coronoid sclerosis (dysplasia) in both elbows. Needless to say, she is not as full of life as she once was and this is heartbreaking to see.

The cost of surgery to address these issues is very high, as you would expect. Surgery for both of her knees will total almost £10k. Further treatment, medication, CT scans, and possible surgery will also be required for her elbows, so who knows how much more this will cost ££££. Nala is insured, however the insurance will not cover the full amount, leaving thousands of pounds outstanding.

The mental, emotional and financial implications are weighing very heavily and my mum has even considered not going through with the surgery because of this. Leaving Nala in pain is not an option and any alternative solution does not bear thinking about.

So here I am, reaching out to the animal lovers amongst you, in the hope that you might be kind enough to donate even the smallest amount towards Nala’s surgery, pulling together to lighten the financial load a little. We just want to get her the best care available and enable her to go on to live a life that is happy and pain free as possible.

My mum is always one to help others, my sister and I especially. With your support, I am hoping I can help her this time.
